Celebrate the Birthday of Mazu Goddess of the Seas at Thian Hock Keng
The birthday of Goddess of the Seas, Mazu falls on the 23rd day of the 3rd Lunar month. Thian Hock Keng, fondly known as the Mazu Temple, will be holding a 5-day birthday celebration for Mazu beginning 1st of May (Saturday). Special opening hours are as follow:
✅ 1 – 3 May (Sat – Mon): 7:30am to 5:30pm
✅ ⭐️4 May (Tue, actual day): 7:30am to 8pm⭐️
✅ 5 May (Wed): 7:30am to 5:30pm
Devotees may register your loved ones to be blessed during the Taoist and Medicine Buddha Repentance Rituals, as well as purchase limited special offering items to seek the blessings of Mazu at Thian Hock Keng.
During the celebrations, devotees can also look forward to cultural activities which include 6 traditional Hokkien string puppet shows across 3 days and a lion dance performance on the actual day. Pre-booking of visiting slot is NOT required. However, once the temple reaches the maximum capacity of 50 visitors, visitors may have to queue to enter the temple.
